They may file countless legal motions or frequently turn to the courts to help them make basic decisions around parenting.  They are unable to cooperate, plan, and collaborate in their parenting. They are not the intended victims, but they invariably suffer from the conflict they witness, as well as the conflict they do not see. Text Box: Family Counseling Service newest program is Building Bridges, which started on July 24, 2009.  Building Bridges groups meet once a week in a group and individual settings for nine weeks. The program is designed for co-parents involved in high-conflict divorce cases. 

 Many high-conflict divorce cases involve co-parents who are emotional, stubbornly set in their ways, and unwilling to compromise or see the other’s point of view. They often say that they want the conflict to end but refuse to adhere to the decisions handed down by judges or court officials.  These individuals are unable and unwilling
