Program Description
New Perspectives is a group-based intervention for individuals who have
committed repeat property offenses. The strategy is to focus on issues
including values clarification, moral development, and self-awareness to
increase the clients’ ability to make healthy choices and reduce their
use of maladaptive behaviors which damage themselves, their families,
and society. Through challenging the beliefs which enable their
behavior, and providing a new frame of reference for understanding their
alternatives, we intend to create a new awareness of commonly accepted
moral values and increase the clients’ desire to respect the lives
around them.
New Perspectives is conducted in weekly group sessions over 12 weeks.
Each meeting lasts two hours and is conducted by experienced mental
health professionals.
