Trevia Wilkerson
Licensed Professional Counselor, Doctor of Education
Some life experiences can lead to difficulties and challenges that may negatively impact moods, cause distress, or impede decision-making processes. As a licensed professional counselor, I enjoy assisting clients with restructuring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to build confidence in their abilities and continuously engaging in efforts to achieve goals.
Teamwork is an essential component in therapeutic processes. Therefore, feedback from clients is necessary and valued. First, clients and I collaborate on developing treatment plans as a tool to guide future counseling sessions. Next, clients are encouraged to participate during their treatment actively. Finally, I will help individuals, couples, or families to recognize, manage, and reduce symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health needs.
Overall, integrative approaches will be used to reshape experiences, boost internal motivation, and develop healthy coping patterns addressing past, current, and new situations by identifying positive alternatives.
